Zelma Mae Reed, 95 of Colby, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012. She was born Sept 11, 1916 to Melville and Lula (Burg) Bever in rural Thomas County. She attended Olive Branch Grade School and graduated from Colby High School in 1934. She married Burtis Reed in October of 1939. She was a life time resident of Thomas County, accomplished artist, a great cook and a member of the Colby United Methodist Church.
Proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Burtis Reed (1978); a son Ronald Reed, eight brothers and sisters.
Survived by two sons, Robert (Kay) Reed, Stockton and Keith (Karen) Reed, Monument; a daughter Kathleen (Robert) Bryan, Rochester Hills, Michigan; a daughter-in-law Virginia Reed, Houston, TX; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb 13, 2012 at Baalmann Mortuary.
