Wilma Anderson

Wilma Anderson, 91, of Colby, died May 5, 2019 at the Logan County Manor, Oakley. Wilma was born March 8, 1928 near Levant, KS, to Charley and Mildred Carpenter. In 1948 she married Glen Doherty and they had five children, Barbara, Charles, Gary, Joseph, & Paula.

Wilma managed a motel in Goodland for many years. Most of her life was spent renting her apartments and houses.

In 1974 she married Glenn Anderson, and spent a short time in California. She was an avid sports fan, and loved her Broncos and Jayhawks. Wilma enjoyed antiquing, auctions, and yard sales. She spent her life devoted to her work and family. She was a dedicated mother and daughter and much loved by her entire family. She will be greatly missed.

Wilma is survived by her sons, Chuck, Gary, and Joe Doherty; her siblings, Charlie
(Julie) Carpenter, Norma (David) Smith and Annie Brooks; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews

Preceding her in death were her parents. Charley and Mildred Carpenter; daughters, Barbara Lawrence and Paula Bixenman and grandsons Joshua Doherty and infant David Bixenman.

A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Beulah Cemetery, Colby. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Wilma Anderson Memorial Fund, in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701. For condolences or information visit www.baalmannmortuary.com
