Wayne Eldon Bosler, 87, of Herndon, died Monday, October 3, 2022. He was born on January 19, 1935, the fourth child of six children to Nick and Josephine (Johnston) Bosler in Oberlin, KS.
He attended and graduated from Oberlin Elementary School and Decatur Community High School. In 1956, Wayne joined the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1959.
In 1960, Wayne was united in marriage to Linda Jording. In June of 2022, they celebrated their 62nd Wedding Anniversary. Their only child was a son, Barry. Wayne and Linda had three grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Wayne and Linda moved from Oberlin to Denver, Co, in 1960, where Wayne attended and graduated from Barber College. Wayne continued Barbering in Denver until 2006. Eventually, he purchased a barber shop and laundromat on Penn Avenue in Oberlin, KS.
Wayne and Linda purchased a home in Herndon, KS, in 2006, where they resided until moving to the Good Samaritan Society in Atwood, KS.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his wife’s parents; one brother; two sisters; seven sisters-in-laws; nine brothers-in-law and his daughter-in-law Beth Bosler.
He is survived by his wife Linda (Jording) Bosler; son Barry Bosler: grandchildren, Joshua Bosler, Torey Bosler and Nick Bosler, his wife Abby and sons Greyson and Desmond Bosler; sister Carolyn Wallace; sister Joy and her husband Von Johnson and many more nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at the Church of Christ, Oberlin, KS. Inurnment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ludell.
