Terry Jay Heinrich, 65, of Oakley, passed away on March 12, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Terry was born in Oakley, Kansas, on June 11, 1955, to Clarence and Claudine (Davenport) Heinrich. Terry was the second of five children and was raised in Grinnell, Kansas.

In 1975 Terry married Erin Garrett and to this union they were blessed with two children, son Bradley James, of Wilson and daughter Julie, of Abilene, Texas. This marriage later dissolved. On September 2nd, 1983 Terry married Joyce Smith, of Oakley, Kansas.

Terry worked for the Union Pacific Railroad, Grinnell Co-op, BJ Services, Allied Cementing and Frontier Ag, until he retired in 2019.

Terry loved spending time playing golf and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Most of all Terry enjoyed being with his friends and family.

In November of 2019 Terry was diagnosed with lung cancer, then later diagnosed with neuroendocrine carcinoma.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; his parents Clarence and Claudine and brother Michael, along with numerous aunts and uncles.

Terry leaves behind his four-legged loyal friend, Fred; his children, Bradley and Julie; stepchildren, Rod Huffman & P.D. Huffman, both of Oakley and Tracey Macy, of Salem, Oregon; grandson Bradley James and numerous step grandchildren. He also leaves behinds his sisters, Geri (Lance) McCune, of Beloit; Sherri (Alan) Ryan, of Oakley and Michelle (Richard) English, of Beloit; aunts, Cleon Heinrich, of Hays and Marilyn Heinrich, of Oakley and uncle Donald Mike Davenport, of Sutherlin, Oregon, along with numerous cousins all of Terry’s close friends, whom he loved unconditionally.

The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m., Friday, March 19, 2021, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. A Memorial Service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021, at the Mortuary, with inurnment in Oakley City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Tri State Coalition of Concerned Motorcyclists or the Cow Paddy Golf Course and may be sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
