Tamera Jo Teeter, 62, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, March 10th, 2020. Tamera was born, a beloved daughter, to Herb and JoAnn (Fink) Teeter, on Oct 27th, 1957 in Oakley, KS. She attended school in Oakley and graduated from OHS in 1975. Tamera graduated from Kansas University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies. She lived in Lawrence for many years, working for Sunflower Ammunition Plant and the Lawrence water treatment plant. Tamera worked for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment in the Lawrence and Salina field offices as an environmental scientist for the livestock program. She loved being out in nature and appreciating the landscapes and plants of Kansas. She had a strong interest in the grasslands and pursued her masters in range management. Her loves and passions were her children, nature, and our country. She was a member of the Methodist Church and had a deep personal relationship with her God. Tamera was a beloved and kind daughter, mother, sister, niece, educator and friend. She worked very hard to make the world a better place and her light will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her father Herb and her son Morgan Crandell. She is survived by her sons Sawyer Crandell, of Independence, MO and Asher Crandell, of Lawrence, KS; her mother JoAnn Teeter, of Oakley KS; her sister Tracee Teeter (Randy Swart), of Oakley, and special friend Dean Althrage, of Lawrence, KS.
Cremation was chosen. The family will receive friends and family at the Oakley United Methodist Church, Friday, March 13th, 2020, from 5pm-7pm. A memorial service will be Sat, March 14th, 2020 at 10:30am, also at the church. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
