Shirley Nichols

Shirley Ann (Styles) Nichols 77 passed away April 24, 2024, at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, NE, surrounded by family.

Shirley was born March 23,1947, to Olie and Helen (Nelson) Styles in Colby, KS. Shirley was the youngest of seven children.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters.

Shirley lived in Atwood where she attended school. As a teenager she worked several jobs including waitressing and babysitting.

In 1973 Shirley and her two children moved to Oberlin where she worked at the Good Samaritan Center. Shirley ran the Oberlin Livestock Café and owned Corcoran Furniture.

Shirley loved to bowl, where she met Dave. They were married on June 8, 1974.

Shirley loved working with computers and was a master with Excel. She was the Office Manager for the Grafel’s for over 25 years.

Shirley is survived by her husband Dave, son Richard (Jude) Michel, daughter Cindy (David) Heuer, stepchildren Dustin (Dana) Nichols and Lauri Nichols and many grand and great grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and a memorial service take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2024, at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Atwood. Memorials can be made to the church and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
