Sharon Lynn Scott Hauschild, 84, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2023, in Oakley, KS. Sharon was born January 9, 1939, in Burr Oak, KS to Orville Scott and Marguerite Rouse Peters. Sharon was an adventurous child who loved running around with her stepbrothers and other kids. She graduated from Edgar High School (NE) in 1957 where she excelled in athletics. Shortly after high school, she followed her sister and brother-in-law to Oakley, KS where she met Howard Hauschild while working at The Little Cafe. The two were married November 30, 1958.
Sharon and Howard always enjoyed outdoor activities including jeeping in Colorado and frequent trips to Cathouse Lakes.
Sharon loved golf, playing cards, quilting and an occasional gambling trip to Las Vegas. She also enjoyed having a cocktail on the back porch or at the club with friends. Sharon was proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Sharon is survived by her daughter Lynn Baalman (Dave Matzinger); son Lane Hauschild (Stacy Wood); five grandchildren, Kara Bohks (Jason), Lindsey Tremblay (Tyler), Oaklee Hauschild, Sara Wood and Morgan Wood; four great-grandchildren, Charlie, Calvin, Rocky and Ramsey; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, including her beloved stepdad, Ralph Peters; husband, Howard; sister, Dolores “Teed”; two brothers, LaMarr and Lyndall; two stepbrothers, Billy and Pete; and one stepsister, Mary.
Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. Sat April 22, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley KS. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. at Oakley City Cemetery.
