Shana Nicole Carman, 50, of Colby, died Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Citizens Medical Center, in Colby. She was born on August 28, 1973, to Larry and Carol (McElderry) Westerman.
Shana graduated from Kensington High School in 1992 and attended Cloud County Community College and then Fort Hays State University where she received a master’s degree in speech-language pathology. Shana worked for the Northwest Kansas Educational Service Center for over 20 years helping give children a voice.
On June 10, 2000, Shana married Curtis Carman, in Kensington, KS and they made their home in Colby. She loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her children. In her spare time, Shana enjoyed cooking, reading, gardening, flowers and sitting with her kitties.
Shana was preceded in death by an infant baby Riley and her grandparents, Frank and Julia Westerman and Marvin and Betty McElderry.
She is survived by her husband Curtis; daughters Oaklynn, Coryl and Blaidynn; her mother Carol (Gary) Friesen; father Larry (Tonja) Westerman; brother Michael (Jolene) Westerman, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Colby, followed by burial at 2:00 p.m. at the Selden Cemetery, Selden, KS.
