Ruth Mary (Borman) Nation, 100, of Atwood, passed away August 24, 2022, in Atwood. She was born December 30, 1921, in Berryton, Kansas, to Michael Henry and Martha (Fink) Borman. Ruth attended the Bird City, KS grade school until the 8th grade.
When Ruth’s sister Gertrude graduated, in 1942, they left for California to work at the McDonnell Douglass airplane factory during the war. After the war, Ruth became an instructor at a sewing factory. Later she worked at an upholstery business making greyhound and school bus seats. She retired at the age of 66 and moved to Isabella Lake, CA. She enjoyed gardening and had peach, pear, and apricot trees.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Martha; siblings, Esther Ammeman, of New Jersey, Helen Coram, of California, Jake Borman, of California, Henry Borman, of Bird City, KS, Freda Osgood, of Los Angeles, CA, Gertrude Richardson, of Fallbrook, CA, Leroy Borman, of Lima, OH, Edwin Borman, of Indianapolis, IN and Estella Austin, of Goodland, KS.
She is survived by her sister Martha Anderson; nephew Larry (Meghan) Anderson, and their boys Andrew, Erik and Ian Anderson and niece Linda Anderson, all of Atwood, along with many more nephews and nieces.
Private family inurnment took place at the Swedish Baptist Cemetery, east of Atwood. A Celebration of life will be held at a later date at the Good Samaritan Society, in Atwood.
