Obituary Rosanna Kay Parker Long time Goodland resident Rosanna Kay (Hayden) Parker died Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Goodland Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. A family viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 8:30 am to 9 am, and a public viewing from 9 am to 10 am at the First United Methodist Church in Goodland, KS. The funeral service will begin at 11 am, with internment to follow at the Goodland Cemetery. Rosanna was born on July 13, 1950, in Goodland, KS, to William B. Hayden, Sr. and Olive A. (Smith) Hayden. The youngest of thirteen children, she grew up one and a half miles north of the Wallace County Line on Road 11. She attended primary school at the one room Sandy Hill School at Roads 57 and 11, later graduating from Goodland High School in 1968, with honors. On December 31, 1968, Rosanna married Robert E. Parker of Long Island, KS. Mr. Parker’s position with the United States Air Force resulted in the two living in Rapid City, SD, Great Falls, MT, and Okinawa, Japan, during the Vietnam era. Mr. Parker left the Air Force on June 30, 1972. At that point, the Parkers moved to their Goodland home, where Rosanna resided until her death on May 6. Following Mr. Parker’s discharge from military service, Rosanna became a homemaker, and he became an over the road truck driver. Rosanna was preceded in death by her husband and her parents as well as her 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by a son, Goodland Police Officer Brad Parker, one sister, Linda S.
