Ronald Elwin “Wimp” Guenther, 82, of Oakley, died Thursday, June 6, 2013 at Logan County Hospital, Oakley. He was born on July 28, 1930 to Fred and Sarah (Millson) Guenther in Yates Center, KS. He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He married Floris Crosby on June 14, 1958 with a love that held them together for 52 years. He worked as a meat cutter for 30 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Floris; three brothers, Fred Jr., Dave & Larry.
He is survived by a son, Doug and friend Karla of Dorrance; three daughters, Mary and husband Greg Andersen of rural Oakley, Bonnie and husband Alan Dizmang of Colby and Connie and husband J.D. Hill of Eskridge; Six grandchildren, Casey Andersen and wife Brandy of rural Oakley, Linley Andersen of Oakley, Andrea and Aaron Dizmang of Colby and Carley and Carrie Hill of Eskridge; three great grandchildren Bailey and Cody Andersen of rural Oakley and Cyla Hill of Eskridge; two brothers Neil and Tom Guenther of Lee Summit, MO and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Cremation was chosen, there will be no visitation. Memorial service will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Burial will follow in the Oakley City Cemetery.
