Roberta Rose (Albers) Robben died Thursday, September 26th, 2013 at Hays Medical Center. She was born January 9, 1941 in Hoxie, KS to John M. and Mary P. (Schoenberger) Albers. She grew up in Oakley Kansas and the surrounding area, graduating from Oakley High School in 1959. She married Phillip J. Robben March 6, 1962 in Angelus Kansas. They lived on a farm north of Campus, KS until Philip’s death (November 16th, 2003). She was a homemaker, and worked in various motels in the Oakley and Hays area before retiring. She enjoyed baking for family and friends, as well as doing various puzzles and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her husband and oldest daughter, Delores Diana Robben, her parents, a sister, Loree Albers, and brothers, Bill Albers, Bernie Albers, and Leroy Albers.
She is survived by her sons, Michael and wife Gaynor of Waldorf, MD. Patrick, Lyle and Lawrence of Hays, Thomas and wife Nancy of Topeka, KS, William of Mesa AZ, and daughters Phyllis and husband Alan of Grainfield, KS, Kimberly and Liza of Hays, KS, four grandchildren, one great grandchild and four step grandchildren, brothers Gary Albers, Gillette WY, Charles Albers and wife Lois of Hays, Jim Albers, Oakley Kansas, and sisters Helen Legleiter of Hays, Evelyn Geist and Husband Elmer of Oakley.
Family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2013 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oakley, KS with a memorial mass following.
