Robert E Zelfer, 78, of Galena, MO, died Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Salina Regional Health Center, Salina, KS. He was born October 11, 1938 to Francis and Pauline (Ronnebaum) Zelfer in Bern KS. Bob was the oldest of five children. He grew up in the Goff, Centralia, and Seneca area and in 1954 moved to Hutchinson with his family. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Air Force and spent four years serving his country in France. When he returned to the states he met the love of his life, Barbara Riggs. They married on January 2, 1961 and spent the next few years in Hutchinson KS where their 3 daughters were born. They moved to Colby in 1967 to farm for several years. Although Bob moved on to other endeavors, which took him and his family to Central KS and then onto Missouri, farming was his first love. Bob also loved spending time with family and friends at the lake, water skiing and fishing. He also loved going dancing with Barbara on Saturday nights. Nobody could dance a jitterbug better than Bob! Reading was also a favorite hobby of his. It didn’t take him long to read an entire library!! You only had to ask Bob about world events and he could tell you everything as he only watched Fox Business News!!! He was all about Making America Great Again!
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Barbara, his parents and Brother Jerry. He is now with our Lord, and his wife Barbara.
