Robert Ray Tubbs, 87, died Wednesday September 30 at his farm north of Levant. He was born September 25, 1933 to Harold and Elma Tubbs. He was an only child. As a child growing up on the Tubbs family homestead, he attended Bunker Hill School. On January 9, 1955 he married Caroline Prokop in Colby, KS.
He was always involved in farming. As a young man, he worked as a farm hand for Arley Christiansen and then Willard “Bill” Miller. He also continued to help his father with the cattle and farming. He later ventured out on his own and continued farming the family land. Although he cussed the weather, the weeds and equipment, farming was his life and he loved it.
He was preceded in death by his wife Caroline; his parents; daughter Peggy and granddaughter Sara.
Survivors include his daughter Kathy (Rick) Homan; sons, Allen (Karen) Tubbs, Dennis (Robin) Tubbs and Justin (Angela) Tubbs; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
