Rita Jones

Rita Marie (Young) Jones, 92 years old, of Colby, Kansas, died peacefully on Tuesday with her husband by her side. Rita was born on February 13, 1922 in Colby, Kansas to the late Margaret & Clyde Young. She enjoyed flowers and birds, & doing needlepoint embroidery. She was a homemaker, and also served as a worthy Matron in Eastern Star. She is survived by her loving husband Armun D. Jones; her son Destry G. Jones (Cathy) of Raleigh, North Carolina; and also her sister Delma Voison of Ashland, Oregon. She was predeceased by two brothers Bill Young & Robert Young, and one sister, Norine (Young) LeHockey. Rita lived most of her life in Mandan, North Dakota. In 1994, she and husband Armun moved back to Colby, Kansas. Rita & Armun were WWII sweethearts who were married for 70 years. The family would like to thank the Prairie Senior Living Complex for their outstanding care and service. A visitation will be held at the Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 10th at 1:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at the Colby Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
