Send Flowers RICHARD “DICK” HAYS STRUTT   Richard (Dick) Hays Strutt, 81, was born on May 15, 1934 to Carl Andrew Strutt and Goldie Inez (Hays) Strutt in Alton, Kansas.  Dick passed away on Monday morning, February 22, 2016 at the Logan County Hospital in Oakley, Kansas. Dick attended school in Woodston, Kansas graduating from High School in 1952.  After high school he went to work for Dodson Manufacturing of Wichita, Kansas putting up grain bins until he joined the United States Army in February, 1954.  He served until February, 1956 after which he joined the Army Reserve until 1964.  After the army, he started a custom cutting business with one combine and one truck cutting wheat in Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska.  It was while broke down in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma that he met Patricia Marie Ramsey.   The two were married on June 21, 1956.  After moving back to Woodston, Kansas, Dick started what would be a 57 year career with John E. Jones Oil Co.  The job would take him from Woodston to Hill City then finally to Oakley, Kansas.  During those early years with J-J Oil was born three sons, Darvin Joe Strutt (Tammi), Colby, Kansas, Terry Lee Strutt (deceased), and Johnny Dale Strutt (Michelle), Oakley, Kansas.  He loved watching the boys playing sports especially wrestling. After he divorced, Dick married his second wife Roxana W. Repshire on October 24, 1986 in Oakley, Kansas.  He became a proud step-parent of two children, Charmion C. Arthur (Steven), Hays, Kansas and Chad Repshire, Oakley, Kansas.  Then later was blessed to help raise two grandchildren, Nikki and Toby Repshire.  Dick enjoyed eating the cooking that Roxie loved to do.  He never let the farming ever leave him as he enjoyed working in his garden every year and he bought and sold old tractors.  But his favorite time of the year was the Christmas season.  He was like a kid himself as he would buy presents and enjoy watching the kids and grandkids open them.  He enjoyed giving to others.  Dick served several years as a City Councilman for the City of Oakley and on the Logan County Fairboard. Dick was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Sister Winnie Roberta Copley, James Lee Strutt, Carl E. Strutt.  His son Terry Lee Strutt and grandson Terry James Strutt.  He is survived by his sister Carleta Sue Imel (Jack), Woodston, Kansas, his children and 10 grandchildren, Kirstie Strutt, Trevor Strutt, Allisha Cutshall, Kellie Strutt, Melody Brommer, Andrea Strutt, Erin Arthur and Cole Arthur.  He also has 6 great grandchildren he loved very much. Services will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m.  at the Sunrise Baptist Church, 424 Sunrise Avenue, Oakley, Kansas with burial following the ceremony at the Oakley Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the grandchildrens education fund. In care of Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel.
