Randy Edward Russ passed away peacefully at his home in Colby, KS, on October 24th, 2016, at the age of 60.

He was born in Sumner County, KS, in the Wellington hospital on Fathers Day, June 17, 1956 to Bruce Rowe and Evelyn Mae Russ. He was raised on a small farm outside of Milan, KS, where he went to grade school and then graduated from Argonia High School in 1974. He had two brothers, Ron and Dan Russ, and one sister, Tamera Pontious.

He spent many years working as a mechanic. In a shop, garage, in a field, or even on the side of the road, he worked on any car, truck, tractor, motorcycle, four-wheeler, and even a combine or two.

After 33 years of driving, he retired from United Parcel Service in 2013. He was a people person that enjoyed being a part of so many people’s lives.

He was married to Christina Marie Russ on September 26th, 1992. They have four children, Abigayil- 21, Austin and Ashton- 20, and Allyanne-15. He was dedicated to his children through camping trips, vacations, and church; teaching them, talking, and playing with them, he supported them in everyday life.

He spent his last couple of years comfortably and quietly in his home with his family. Watching his children come and go from activities, school, college and work. He loved the Lord, his family, singing in the shower, and working on fast cars. He was a wonderful husband and father and will be greatly missed by his wife, children, family and friends.

His wife, Christina Russ, survives him, along with his children, Abigayil, Austin, Ashton and Allyanne, all of Colby; brothers, Ron Russ, of Houston, TX, and Dan Russ; sister Tamera and Rick Pontious, of Milan, KS; sisters and brothers-in-law, Robert and Carrie Rinehart, of Colby, KS, Samuel and Candra Oesterreich, of Springfield, MI, Clifton and Amanda Sowers, of Healy, KS, Joshua and Carla Beckley, of Atwood, KS, Joshua and Clarissa Rinehart, of Kansas City, MO, and Bryon Sowers of Colby, KS and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4-7:00 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the College Drive Assembly of God Church, Colby. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery, Colby. Memorials are suggested to the Randy E. Russ Memorial Fund, in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
