Peggy M. Schoendaler, 78, of Grinnell, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011. She was born on July 3, 1933 to Arlie and Gladys (Jacobitz) Hoover in rural Sheridan County. She attended Grinnell High School, graduating in 1950. She married Alvin (Joe) Schoendaler on Feb 16, 1953. She enjoyed reading books, doing puzzles, playing cards, collecting ornaments, and visiting with friends. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and watching all of them in their various activities. Peggy was a member of the St. Mary’s Altar Society and Immaculate Conception Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Alvin (Joe); a brother Kenneth Hoover; and two sisters,Verlene McGuire and Lovina Hoover.
She is survived by son Ron and wife Deloris Schoendaler, their children Ryan, Kevin and Eric; son Steve and wife Cheryl Schoendaler, their children Courtney and husband Ty Brunswig, Drew and wife Jill Schoendaler and Megan Schoendaler; son Stan and wife Claudine Schoendaler, their children Zachary and Alexis Schoendaler.
Visitation will be Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, 6-8 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish Center, Grinnell. A vigil service will start at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Grinnell.
