Paul Mews

Paul Dean Mews, 41, of Atwood, Kan., died March 3, 2020.

He was born Sept. 10, 1978 in Canton, S.D. to Al and Lin Lanham Mews.

Paul grew up in Inwood, Iowa and graduated from West Lyons High School in 1997. During these years he developed his passion for football, basketball and swimming.

He graduated from Hastings College with a major in computer science and was employed in management with Walgreens in several Nebraska cities.

Paul married Jessica Reinert April 12, 2008 in Omaha, Neb. The couple are the parents of Caleb, David and Drew.

The family made their home in Atwood where Paul proudly wore his Iowa Hawkeye gear, especially when he coached little boys or went fishing with his buddy, Vernon.

Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert and Ruth Mews and Don and Louise Lanham and an uncle, Steve Lanham.

He is survived by his wife, Jessica; sons, Caleb, David and Drew; father and mother-in-law, Doug and Marla Reinert; sisters-in-law, Sarah and husband, Judd Haahr and Anna and husband, Danny Duhacek; brother-in-law, Jacob and wife, Loree Reinert; parents, Al and Lin Mews of Inwood, Iowa; siblings, Liz and husband, Kevin Lemcke, of Rapid City, S.D., Laurie and husband, Adam Politzer, of Des Moine, Iowa, Sue Mews of Chicago, Ill., Al and his wife, Jayme Mew, of North English, Iowa, Amy Mews of Lincoln, Neb., Cindy and husband, Robbie Harris, of Des Moine, Iowa and Lee and wife, Kelsey Mews, of North Mankato, Minn.; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A memorial service was held March 6, 2020 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atwood with Pastor Steve Frank officiating.
Cremation was chosen. A private family graveside service was held.
