Patricia Williby

Patricia (Barton) Williby, 91, of Colby, KS, died Wednesday, April 10th, 2019, at Prairie Senior Living Complex. She was born September 28, 1927, in Lawton, Oklahoma; to Ray and Edith (Crossman) Barton. She married Virgil Williby on July 21, 1948. Pat met Virgil at the Craterville Skating rink in Lawton, OK. Virgil was stationed at an Army base; shortly thereafter they moved to northwest Kansas.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Gene Barton; and her husband Virgil.

Pat is survived by her children, Glenda Diaz, of Mt. Pleasant, TX, Janet (Tom) Stipetich, of Ashland, WI, Edwin Wayne (Vicki) Williby, of Aurora, CO and Travis (Jo) Williby of Colby, KS; 9 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; along with her only sister-in-law, Juanita Williby, of Oberlin, KS; 5 nieces, 2 nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.

Eventually Pat became a nurse’s aide at St. Thomas Hosp. in Colby, KS. Pat had a loving and caring heart, working many extra hours sitting with patients that needed that extra TLC. Pat also was a volunteer for RSVP, being recognized for her commitment to help others. Pat was avid reader along with doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, tatting, hand quilting, embroidery, cross stitching, playing games with children and grandchildren. Pat's favorites were the color Purple, sweetened ice tea, and anything Chocolate.

Cremation was chosen. A memorial gathering will be on May 20, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gathering Place, 745 S. Country Club Dr, Colby, KS. Inurnment will follow in Beulah Cemetery, Colby, KS.
