Norman Hansen, 90, of Colby, KS died June 29, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones. Norman was born to Louis and Annabelle Hansen in rural Howard County, NE, on December 12, 1931. He was baptized and confirmed on January 26, 1947, at Peace Lutheran Church in Nance County, NE. He attended rural grade schools in Howard and Nance County, NE, and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1949.
Norm married Edna Oltmanns at Peace Lutheran Church on January 13, 1952, and together they celebrated 70 years of marriage this past winter. To this union three sons were born: Bruce (1953), Brian (1954) and Brad (1956).
He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church since moving to Colby in 1966.
Throughout his career Norm worked at, owned, and/or managed numerous local businesses, including: JM McDonalds, T&W Electronics, Hansen Electronics/Radio Shack, C.R. Anthony, London Fog, and Colby Canvas.
Norman is survived by wife Edna, sons Bruce (Tina) Hansen of Colby, KS, Brian (LouAnn) Hansen of Andover, KS and Brad (Sebrina) Hansen of Brewer, ME; grandchildren, Ashley, Aaron, and Audra Hansen, Chandi (Kevin) Reed, Tyson (Robyn) Reed, and Maura (Aaron) Geist; great-grandchildren, Jayden Reed, Raeth, Thorin and Xavien Worthy, Lynk and Myck Reed, and Louis Geist.
Private family burial took place in Beulah Cemetery, Colby, KS. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 5 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Colby.
