Nettie Griggs

Nettie LaRae (Stickel) Griggs, 87 of Colby passed away at 4:00 a.m. on March 11, 2013 at Citizens Medical Center. She was born March 25, 1925 on a farm near Mingo, Kansas to Harry Benjamin Stickel and Luzetta (Arnett) Stickel. Nettie lived in Colby all her life. She was a very kind and patient woman. She loved to cook and bake. Family was everything to her and she always accepted everyone with an open heart. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas Griggs and a daughter Karren Donaldson.

She is survived by three children; John Griggs of rural McDonald, Barbara (Kerry) Turner of Colby, Virginia (Gary) Curry of Levant, 12 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

A visitation will be 2-8 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2013 at the Mortuary. Burial will follow in Beulah Cemetery.
