Naomi “Jean” (Phillips) Elliott, 75, originally from Milton-Freewater, Oregon, died on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Colby Health and Rehab in Colby, KS. Jean was born on January 22, 1941, in Milton, Oregon, to Marion and Veta (Sasser) Phillips.
Jean married Arlen Elliott, on March 25, 1960 and they had three children. Jean was a waitress most of her life and enjoyed being able to meet and talk to new people. Jean also loved to watch baseball and cheer for the Chicago Cubs. Fishing was also a favorite pastime of hers. Zoey, the resident dog at Colby Health and Rehab, was a special friend to her and would go to Jean’s room for daily treats.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Lois Hoffarth and her brother, Melvin Phillips. She is survived by brothers, Charles Phillips and Larry Phillips; her children, Lori Pattillo (Steve Thompson), of Paradise, KS, Stacy Gordon, of Colby, KS and Brian Elliott (Lea Dawn), of Hoxie, KS. Jean is also survived by ten grandchildren and fifteen great- grandchildren.
No funeral services are planned per Jean’s request. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Pioneer Memorial Library in Colby, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be sent to Colby Health and Rehab in Colby, KS.
