Muriel Ann Miars, 89, of Oakley, KS, passed away at Logan County Senior Living, on April 1, 2022.
She was born to Dwight and Sarah Gilbert in Hanks, North Dakota on January 20, 1933. She was the youngest of 11 children. She was previously married to Kenneth Edwards of Kalispell, MT and Charles Miars (dec. 1978) and found her life partner in Rex Asbridge Sr. (dec. 2005).
She and her 4 children spent many years traveling around Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Colorado before moving to Kansas and eventually settling in Oakley in 1976.
Muriel loved listening to country music and square dancing, she actually met her husband Charles while out square dancing and they fell in love and got married. She also enjoyed embroidery and camping. However, her favorite thing was spending time with her family and friends, especially her myriad of grandchildren. Her house was always full of people, and you could always count on finding some yummy treat, as she was forever cooking. She enjoyed feeding people and the more the better.
Muriel was preceded in death by both her parents; 7 siblings; her husband Charles Miars; life partner Rex Asbridge, Sr. and her daughter Marjorie Ann.
She is survived by her 4 children, Rose (Dale) Wilcox, Dale (Pam) Edwards, Mary (Rex, Jr.) Asbridge, and Raymond Edwards; 6 stepchildren, Kathy (Terry) Dunn, Karen (Bill) Williams, Rex (Mary) Asbridge, Jr., Charles Asbridge, Loretta (Dwayne) Ogden and Juania (Kelly Sichard) Eisenhardt; 3 siblings Dean Gilbert, Keith Gilbert and Elaine Schaub; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great greatgrandchildren.
