Michael William Quenzer, 66, of Colby, died Wednesday, August 10th, 2016 at Citizens Medical Center. He was born November 22nd, 1949 to Doyle and Fay (Biesterfeld) Quenzer in Norton, Kansas. On May 17th, 1975 he married Julia Rolland at the First Christian Church in Norton, KS. Michael was in the Kansas National Guard for 40 years, he retired as a Command Sergeant Major in 2009. He also worked for KN/Midwest Energy for 40 years before retiring. In his spare time he enjoyed target practice, riding motorcycles and enjoyed time with his grandkids. He was a member of American Legion Post 363, American Legion Riders 363, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6882 and the United Methodist Church of Colby.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Doylene Foreman.
Michael is survived by his wife, Julia Quenzer of Colby; sons, Nick (Megan) Quenzer and Chris Quenzer, both of Colby; grandchildren Carter, Michael and Miah; sisters, Susan Thomson of Norton and Pat Quenzer of Oberlin; Uncle Dee (Barb) Biesterfeld of Lakewood, CO; brother-in-law, Eldon Foreman of Augusta; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral Service will be Monday, August 15, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church of Colby, KS. Visitation will be the hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Kansas Veterans Cemetery at WaKeeney, KS at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Ft.
