Merlin Earl Green, 83, of Ludell, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017. He was born July 11, 1933, to Roy M. Green and Ethel Lanning Green, on the family farm 8 miles southeast of Atwood, the third of four sons.
Merlin attended Pleasant View Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from Atwood High School, with the Class of 1952.
On August 15, 1954, he was married to Dixie Wilson, of Colby, Kansas. They lived most of their lives on their farm, 18 miles southeast of Atwood. In addition to farming, Merlin founded and operated Country Trailer Sales, selling stock trailers across the nation for 45 years.
Merlin was a classic car enthusiast. He owned and displayed several classic cars through the years and most recently enjoyed driving and showing his 1940 Ford coupe.
Merlin was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Merold, Denzel, and Dennis.
Survivors include Dixie, his wife of 63 years, daughter and son-in-law, Tracey and Mike Harmon, of Burbank, California; son and daughter-in-law, David and Dana Green of Greeley, Colorado; son Regan Green of Ludell; 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Colby Wesleyan Church, Colby. Inurnment will be at the Beulah Cemetery.
