Melvin Moss, 55, of Colby, died Friday, March 3, 2017 at Prairie Senior Living Complex, Colby. He was born Nov 17, 1961 to Tom and Delores (Seeberger) Moss, in Colby. He was raised in Menlo on the family farm. As a child Melvin was a dare devil and thrill seeker; climbing trees and jumping his bike and motorcycle off ramps he built, bull riding at the age of 15 and driving fast and furious, especially in his Mach I Mustang. He was a hard worker, taking up various trades such as farming, ranching in Montana, working in the oil field and driving truck from coast to coast. Melvin loved dogs and was known to always have one at his side. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and sharing the produce of his garden with others. Melvin enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews, who could always count on him to play with and tease them. In his early 30’s Melvin was diagnosed with MS. He fought the battle with determination and taught everyone around him to not give up on what you believe in and to have strength and courage in whatever you do.
Melvin was preceded in death by his father and sister Brenda Moss.
He is survived by his children, Michele (JJ) Bice, of Winner, SD and Michael (Chelsey) Moss, of Winner, SD; grandchildren, Shayla and Evan Bice, Cora, Reven, Bohdi and Rowdi Moss; mother, Delores Seeberger, of Colby; siblings, Terry (Jennifer) Moss, of Rexford, Kent (Kim) Moss, of Menlo, Tom (Cece) Moss, of Menlo and Kay Riedel, of Wakeeney.
