Maxine M. (Wagy) Berry, 83, of Page City, KS, died August 7, 2013 at Brandon Woods Health Center in Lawrence, KS. She was born February 17, 1930 at home in rural Thomas County to Clarence L. and Ruby (Kistler) Wagy. On June 9, 1956, she married Wesley B. Berry at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Page City and moved to their farm south of town. Maxine graduated from Fort Hays State University and Colorado State Teachers College in Greeley, CO. She taught elementary school for 31 years in Page City, Norton, Oakley, Russell Springs and Winona. She also enjoyed working on the farm, raising cattle and wheat with Wes for many years. Maxine was active in her daughters’ activities, especially 4-H. She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church: serving on the board for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wes and sister M.Darlene Stephens.
She is survived by her daughters Beth(John) Senn, Lawrence, KS, Jana (Ed) Hutton, Brewster, KS and Kara Berry, Richardson, TX; grandchildren Tanner (Ohemaa) Wycoff, Kansas City, MO, Lindsay Wycoff, Prairie Village, KS, Emeline Hutton and Eli Hutton, Brewster, KS; Great-grandchild Wyatt Wycoff, Kansas City, MO; sisters Velma Boyd, Monument, KS and Donna Shull, Colby, KS; sister-in-law T.Maxine Berry, rural Page City and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Winona Cemetery, Winona, KS with a memorial service and lunch following at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Page City, KS.
