Mary Ann Porter, 83, of Oakley, died Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Logan County Hospital. She was born April 11, 1934, in Logan County, to John and Julia (Grasser) Temaat. Mary Ann graduated from Oakley High School in 1952. On June 14, 1954, in Oakley, she married “Pete” J.G. Porter. Mary Ann was a farm wife and enjoyed farming, working with cattle and raising her family. She also loved quilting, gardening and volunteering wherever she was needed. Mary Ann was a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Pete; brothers, Albert, Robert and William Temaat and sister, Bertha Lee.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (Daryl) Goetz, Park, KS, Pam (Leroy) Schmidtberger, Collyer, KS, Linda (Mark) Butler, Lone Tree, CO, James B. Porter, Oakley, KS and Patrick Aaron Porter, Oakley; grandchildren, Monica Goetz, Melanie Goetz, Justin (Kayla) Goetz, Michelle (Steve) Bremenkamp, Tiffany Harvey, Chris (Veronica) Schmidtberger, Mark Schmidtberger, Katie Butler and Jonathan (Corine) Porter; six great grandchildren; brother, Paul Temaat; sister, Lu Ewing; sister in laws, Joan Temaat, Phyllis Temaat and Val Temaat and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley, with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley with burial in the church cemetery.
