Marvin Erwin COLBY – Marvin Erwin, 80, of Hoxie, passed away Saturday Oct. 17, 2015, at Citizens Medical Center, Colby. He was born August 27, 1935, in Levant. Marvin was the son of Doyle & Francis Erwin. He grew up on a farm Northwest of Levant, where he attended school in Levant. On August 27, 1957 he was united in marriage to Luretta Searls, they lived most of their lives in Colby where he was employed then became manager of the Hi-Plains Coop for 35 years before moving to Hoxie in 2010. They have two children, Rhonda Vaughn and Jim Erwin. Marvin was a member of the Christian Church of Colby. Marvin enjoyed life to the fullest, he loved his Children and Grandchildren. Marvin’s favorite past time was his antique tractor collection and he participated in parades and fairs. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Doyle & Francis, brother Maurice, grandson Jordan and infant son Timothy. Survivors include his wife Luretta of Hoxie, KS his daughter Rhonda Vaughn and husband Chuck of Topeka, son Jim and wife Pam of Hoxie, two sister’s Bonnie Siruta of Winona and Connie Shea of Phillipsburg, 4 grandchildren, Tim and Amber Erwin of Hoxie, Lance and Brooks Vaughn of Topeka, several great-grandchildren and a host of family and many friends. Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 6:00pm Monday Oct. 19 at Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel, Colby. Funeral service will be Tuesday Oct. 20 at First Christian Church in Colby, burial will follow at Hoxie Cemetery.
