Martin Dale Carman, 67, of Colby, died Saturday, April 4, 2020, at Hays Medical Center. He was born January 2, 1953, in Oberlin, KS, to Paul and Mary (Yeager) Carman. Martin attended school in Oberlin, graduating in 1972. He had worked for Roofmasters and then the City of Colby for 37 years. Martin married Wilma Brown on July 9, 1973, in Atwood, KS. In his free time, he enjoyed watching westerns on TV, drinking coffee and going to car shows. His pride and joy was his red pickup.
Martin was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Rochelle Mather and Carolyn Kay.
He is survived by his wife Wilma, of Colby; children, Terri Carman, of Oakley, Debra (James) Brackett, of Colby and Gina Carman, of Colby; brother Darrell, of Oakley; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, with one on the way and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Rawlins County, KS. All that attend are required to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet.
