Madonna Lee (Huss) Anderson Madonna Lee (Huss) Anderson, age 77 of Gem, KS, passed away on July 24, 2014 at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kansas. Madonna was born on June 18, 1937 at home on the Huss family farm outside the community of Herndon, Kansas. She was the fifth of seven children born to John and Emma (Kiplinger) Huss. She attended Saint Mary’s Grade School and graduated from Herndon Rural High School in 1955. Madonna married Irvin (Andy) Truman Anderson of Atwood, Kansas on February 20, 1955. Andy and Madonna made their home in several communities in Western Kansas. Their marriage was blessed with ten children, six boys and four girls. Andy passed away on October 5, 1989. Madonna continued to raise their three youngest sons at their home in Gem, Kansas, where she lived for the rest of her life. In addition to being a homemaker, Madonna worked at Lantern Park Manor in Colby, Kansas for 17 years. In her spare time, she loved to read her magazines, listen to music, and watch television shows. Most of all, she enjoyed visiting friends and spending time with her children and their families. Her growing family delighted her, and she could easily recite the full names and birthdays of every single member (in order!). This was a talent she was frequently quizzed on. Madonna was a quiet soul with a generous spirit. She felt that being a wife, mother, and grandmother was an important role in life and one she embraced with an open heart. (Nikki) Anderson, Raymore, MO. She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren: Vanessa (Neff) and Jeremy Cavanaugh, Eagle River, AK; Jessyca (Neff) and Jeff Livingston, Nashville, TN; Chad (Desiree) Wark, Rexford, KS; Rebecca (Wark) and Chance Rains, Sharon Springs, KS; Kristin Wark, Kansas City, MO; Jami Wark, Ellis, KS; Trevor Anderson, Wichita, KS; Shena (Anderson) and Ryan Hendrix, Wichita, KS; Duke Anderson, Jaycie Anderson, Topeka, KS; Lucas Morton, Austin, TX; Jacob Morton, Austin, TX; Aaron Morton, Austin, TX; April Anderson, Collyer, KS; June (Anderson) and Nathan Steel, Kermit, TX; Mitchell Ohlrogge, Colby, KS; Shane Ohlrogge, Levant, KS; Sage Anderson, Sophia Anderson, Owosso, OK; Miranda (Anderson) and Jon Cook, Greenbrier, AR; Paige Anderson, Dustin Anderson Jr, Brooke Anderson, Winfield, KS. There are also fourteen great-grandchildren: Bryanna and Nadyia Cavanaugh, Morgan, Hayden, Dylan, and Lakin Wark, Jaren, Braylon, and Ashlynn Rains, Ryder Anderson, Sienna and Estella Vargas, Malachi and Rose Cook. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister, her husband Andy, one son, Timothy, and a son-in-law, Dennis.
