Madeleine Gravener

Madeleine Gravener, 93, of Colby, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Citizens Medical Center, Colby. She was born December 1, 1924, in Sherman County, KS, to Jesse and Germaine (Richard) Jacobs. She attended school in Brownville and later graduated from Colby High School. After high school she completed college at Fort Hays State University. She married Charles F. Gravener on October 30, 1943. Madeleine enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilting, knitting, crocheting and making porcelain dolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents and sisters, Jessie Owens-Enfield and Fern Colton.

Madeleine is survived by her children, LeeAnn Candelaria and Marlene Gravener; brother John Jacobs; grandson Jasen Candelaria and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is 4-6:00 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2018, at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Beulah Cemetery, Colby.
