Mabel M. Berndt, 92, Monument, died Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Logan County Manor, Oakley. She was born November 6, 1920 to Adam and Louise (Theye) Germeroth at Bremen, KS. She married Ernest Berndt on March 2, 1946 in the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rural Hoxie. She was a farm wife and loving mother. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oakley and the Quilting Ladies of Winona.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; a daughter in-law; one great-granddaughter; four brothers and one sister.

She is survived by a daughter, Lillian (Joe) Becker, Winona; Two sons, Alvin (Jean) Berndt, Dighton and Phil (Sherri) Berndt, Monument; four grandchildren, Katina Russell, Alan (Brandi) Berndt, Tammy (Cory) Swartz and Vicky (Chris) Bange; two sisters, Alice Mizer and Myrtle Kropp; two brothers, Ed and Andy; ten great grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

Visitation will be 4-8pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Funeral service will be 10:30am on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Oakley. Burial will follow in the Russell Springs Cemetery at 2:00pm. Memorials are suggested to The Lutheran Hour in care of Baalmann Mortuary PO Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
