M. Joan Gallion

Joan Gallion, 92, of Grinnell, died Saturday, April 29, 2023. She was born August 3, 1930, in Quinter, KS, to Charles and Leona (Boston) Johnson. She married Wilfred Gallion on November 26, 1953, at her parent’s home in Gove, KS. Joan graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1953 and taught school for a few years. She also worked as a school secretary for many years.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband Wilfred and brothers, Dean and Dale Johnson.

She is survived by her sons, Mike Gallion and Stan Gallion; daughters, Janet Gallion and Kathy (Roger) Marston; granddaughter, Stephanie (Kelby) Bodley; great grandson Evan Bodley and sister-in-law Leona Gallion.

Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, 2023, at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Grinnell Township Cemetery, followed by refreshments at the Grinnell Senior Center.
