Luke Joseph Marintzer, 54, of Victoria, KS, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Hays Medical Center. Luke was born in McCook, NE, on May 17, 1966, to Hubert W. and Doris C. (Janousek) Marintzer. Luke was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Herndon, KS. He attended and graduated from the Beamgard Learning Center, in Atwood, KS, for special needs children. Luke lived on the family farm until moving to Hill City, KS and later to Atwood. In 2015, he moved to his final home, in Victoria, KS, and attended the Reed Development Center, in Hays.
Luke’s special gift was making people laugh. He was always the life of the party at all family gatherings. Anyone who knew him could share a story about him and it was followed not only by a laugh, but a good old fashioned belly laugh!
Preceding Luke in death were his parents, Hubert and Doris; sister Pat Riener; nephews, Michael and Daniel Riener and Joseph Michael Mumm; niece Cassandra Walker and brother-in-law Charles “Bud” Mumm.
Luke is survived by his family, Damian (Linda) Marintzer, of Westminster, CO, John (Cindy) Marintzer, of North Glenn, CO, Connie (Cecil) Walker, of Porter, TX, Becky (Stan) Faimon, of Stratton, NE, Vicki Mumm, of Atwood, KS, Lydia (Steve) Bryan, of Arvada, CO and Chris (Joe) Halling, of Thornton, CO; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will start at 9:00 a.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, at St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, in Herndon, KS, followed by a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
