Lonnie L. Albertson, 63, of Greenwood, MO passed away July 19, 2015. Lonnie was born on March 2, 1952 to Johnnie and Twila (Walz) Albertson in Grinnell, KS. Lonnie was raised on the family farm and never forgot the values learned there, work hard, help your neighbors, be resourceful and mostly family first. Lonnie had a lot of different hobbies; all involved either working with his hands or being outdoors. From hunting and fishing to building tractors. Relationships were very important to Lonnie, and he was a big jokester with family and friends. If anyone needed anything, they could count on Lonnie to be the first one to show up and help. He spent many happy hours with his grandchildren sharing his love of the great outdoors. Lonnie had been a heavy equipment operator for years, and was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents Johnnie Albertson and Twila (Walz) Albertson-Baalman, and grandparents Ernie and Icie Walz.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Marjorie (Ravenkamp) Albertson; daughters Jennifer Ailshire (Jason), Jamie Albertson, and Janise Griffin (Billy), grandchildren Jesse Ailshire, Jack Ailshire, Hunter Bruns, Wyatt Griffin, and Maegen Allen; sister Connie Ziegler, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A memorial service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, Grinnell, KS. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Gloves for Kids c/o Royals Charities PO Box 419969, KC, MO 64141, Grinnell United Methodist Church, or Camp Lakeside, Scott City, KS.
