Lois Esther Feldt, formerly of Garden City, KS, passed away at the age of 92 on October 19, 2024, in Grainfield, KS. Lois was born August 26, 1932, in Redwing, KS at home to Dale and Alice (Cromwell) Donovan. She attended school in Redwing and Hoisington then completed nurses training at St Rose Hospital in Great Bend, KS. After graduating she went to work in Quinter, KS at Gove County Hospital where she met Cletus Feldt. They were married on July 16, 1955, at Immaculate Conception Church in Grinnell, KS.
During their 53 years together they lived in Park KS, Washington DC, Pueblo, Denver, Fort Collins CO, Las Vegas, NV and Garden City, KS. They had six children, Nickolet, Warren, Alicia, Andrea, Dale & Willa. Lois enjoyed a long career nursing, working in hospitals and doctors’ offices until her retirement from nursing. She then went on to work with Cletus at Southard Home Improvement and then after their retirement they owned and operated Feldt Guttering and Vinyl Fencing. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, sewing, and quilting.
Survivors include her children Nickolet (the late Denny) Cox, Grainfield, KS, Warren (Vicki) Feldt, Vernal UT, Alicia Bolam, Windsor, CO, Andrea (Keith) Youngers, Wichita, KS, CO, Dale Feldt, Garden City, KS, Willa (Doug) Feldt-Boegel, Loveland, CO, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, brother Leroy (Jeannie), Hoisington, KS, sister Carrie (Delmar) Zerr, Hays, KS and her precious dog Lilly.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Alice Donovan, her husband Cletus, grandson Virgil, brothers Delmar, Virgil, and Carl.
A celebration of Lois’s life well lived will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday October 25, 2024, at the 4-H Building in Grainfield, KS. A mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday October 26, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Park, KS with burial in the church cemetery.
