Leroy Horinek

LeRoy Joseph Horinek, 80, died Jan. 24, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Home in Oberlin, Kan. He was born on May 6, 1934 to Anton and Henrietta Kacirek Horinek in Atwood, Kan.

He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doretta Sappenfield.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, LaRue Fikan Horinek, of 35 years; two brothers, Ramon and Anthony Horinek; four children, Deborah and husband, Al Kompus, Douglas Horinek and wife, Deanna, Dianne and husband, Mike Kugler and David “Wiener” Horinek; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

LeRoy was a special part of his family’s lives. He will be missed every day and hour until they meet again. May he rest in peace, God Bless, and know when the sun shines it shines just for him.

A graveside service was held January 25, 2015 at St. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery, North of Atwood.

Memorials may be made to St. John’s Church in care of Bryan Kopriva in LeRoy’s name.
