Leona Evelyn Bigbee, 103, of Oakley, died Sunday, February 19, 2017. She was born January 31, 1914, south of Orion, KS, in Gove County, the third child of Edward Kelly and Grace Eva (Jenkins) Moss. She attended grade school at District #44 and went to Grinnell High School for two years. On February 2, 1932 she married Raymond Bigbee. Evelyn was a farmer and homemaker. She also wrote a column for the Oakley Graphic. She was a member of the Home Benefit Club and the THN Club. She enjoyed attending Bible Study and spending time with her brothers, sisters and families. Cooking, crocheting, quilting, reading and doing crossword puzzles were her favorite hobbies. She also enjoyed fishing and watching Royals baseball with her husband Ray.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond; siblings, Harold Moss, Ruth Sidles, Edna Donze, Bertha Bartlett and Donald Moss.
Evelyn is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2017 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley. Funeral Service is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the mortuary, with burial to follow in the Gove Cemetery.
