Lennie Riedel, 65, of Colby, died Saturday, February 29. 2020. He was born April 16, 1954, in Hays, KS, to Benedict and Dolorine (Sauer) Riedel. Lennie graduated from Morland High School in 1972 and then attended vocational school in Salina. In 1975 he moved to St. Peter, KS, where he farmed with his father. He moved to Colby in 1992 and worked for L&M Steel and Woofter Construction. Lennie was a proud member of the American Legion Honor Guard and American Legion Riders. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, welding, BBQing on his smoker, polka dancing and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
Lennie was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughters, Carrie (Travis) Towns, of Monument, KS and April (Scott) Baker, of Goodland, KS; sisters, Pearl (Lawrence) Flax, of Salina and Vickie Riedel, of Salina; grandchildren, Nathan Towns and Scotty Baker and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the Colby American Legion. Inurnment will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Colby.
