Leigh Tapparo

May 27, 1951 — August 19, 2024

Leigh Arlene Tapparo was born in Concordia, KS on May 27, 1951 and she spent most of her life in the Denver metro area of Colorado. She moved to Oakley, KS in October of 2021. She then moved into the Logan County Senior Living Center in November of 2023 until she succumbed to the progression of multiple myeloma cancer on August 19, 2024.

Leigh was a commercial lines insurance agent for most of her working career. She then retired to raise her grandson, Evan. In her free time, she loved to crochet blankets for her multitude of family members. She loved spending time at large family gatherings and keeping up with all the family drama.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Lee Ramsey and Evelyn Davidson (Brown).

Leigh is survived by her seven children; Bobby Murray, Canon City, CO; Brian Murray, Canon City, CO; Kimberly (Tony) Lee, Oakley, KS; Kevin Murray, Woodland Park, CO; Kyle (Courtney) Murray, Stover, MO; Amber (Derek) Curry, Parker, CO; and Danny Bollinger, Denver, CO. She is also survived by her numerous (too many to count) grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, as well as her brothers, Mike Stansbury, Colorado Springs, CO and John Stansbury, Clay Center, KS, and sister Linda Tynes, Pleasanton, KS.

Leigh leaves behind a large legacy of family, that she taught “through all things stays strong and true.” She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister. Leigh’s absence will be missed beyond measure and those left to mourn her feel the pain of losing the matriarch of their family.

The family is having a celebration of life at the home of Tony and Kimberly Lee in Oakley, KS on August 31, 2024, at 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Baalmann Mortuary in honor of Leigh Tapparo and sent to PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701.
