Lawrence “Larry” John Kuhlman, 70, of Oakley, died Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was born September 5, 1951, in Larned, KS, to Henry and Mildred (Brenner) Kuhlman. Larry graduated from Oakley High School in 1969 and then studied diesel mechanics at the Northwest Kansas Area Vocational Technical School in Goodland for two years. He worked for a farmer in Goodland, before moving back to Oakley to start his own farm. On January 29, 1972, Larry married Nancy Seele, in Oakley. To this union, two sons were born. Larry served on numerous local boards. In his free-time he enjoyed tinkering on his old John Deere tractor, fishing with his good buddy Larry Bley and attending his grandkids sporting events. Larry was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Marked Men.
Larry was preceded in death by his father Henry; son Todd Kuhlman; grandson Adam Kuhlman and brother Vernie Kuhlman.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; son Tony (April) Kuhlman; mother Mildred Kuhlman; brothers, Marion (Myrt), Bill (Albie), Ron (Raye), Bob (Sherri), John (Missy), and Ken (Karen); sister Roseann (Bob) Blagg; sister-in-law Jo (Steve) Badger; grandchildren, Kassandra (Brent) Johnston, Tori Kuhlman, Andrea, Jamie, Craig, Levi, Seth and Zach Kuhlman and great grandsons, Cole and Landon Johnston.
Visitation is 5-7:00 p.m. Tuesday December 21, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley, with a Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass is 10:00 a.m. Wednesday December 22, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
