Larry Allen McDonald, son of Mae (McCorkle) and Carroll (Hap) McDonald, was born on February 9th, 1958 in Smith Center, KS. He passed away on November 17th, 2015 in Colby, KS.
Larry grew up on the farm in the Womer community in Smith County. He graduated from Smith Center High in 1976 then attended Colby Community College. He followed his love for farming and joined a harvest crew, starting his own harvesting business at the age of 21. He was employed with Woofter Construction since 2006. His favorite hobby was cooking bbq and entering professional bbq competitions.
He married Sherry Baumfaulk in 1985. They later divorced. He married Iryna Petlyuk in 2007. One son, Maxim, was born to this union.
Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his wife, Iryna; his son, Max; sisters, Nancy (Jim) St. Aubyn, Austin, TX, Jean McDonald, Northglenn, CO, and Cathy Johnson, Brighton, CO; brothers, Kenneth (Cindy), Austin, TX, and Gary (Terry) Smith Center, 2 nieces and 3 nephews, many relatives and friends.
Visitation is 4-7:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2015 at Baalmann Mortuary, Colby. Funeral services will be held at10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 21st at the United Methodist Church in Colby.
