Kenneth Dean McDaniel, 82, of Colby, formerly of Brewster, died Sunday, September 20, 2020, at Prairie Senior Living Complex, Colby. He was born April 18, 1938, in Goodland, KS, to Ralph and Evangeline (Coffee) McDaniel. Kenneth graduated from Brewster High School in 1957. On June 15, 1957, at Pleasant Home Church, Brewster, KS, he married Colleen Joyce McDaniel. Kenneth was a lifelong farmer and was proud to work the family farm. He also raised cattle and pigs. Kenneth drove to Washington D.C in the Tractorcade. He was president of Pro Ag Inc., the first custom farming group in Northwest Kansas. Kenneth was part of a basketball league after high school. He was also a member of the Goodland Gun Club and the Goodland Elks Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Ariel Andrist.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Joyce, of Colby; children, Carla Sharp, Colby, Mike (Marie) McDaniel, Hoxie, Doug (Calli) McDaniel, Goodland and Leslie Weber, Seattle WA; grandchildren, Desiree Sharp, Jordan (Kendra) Sharp, Ellee McDaniel, Ethan McDaniel, Shanda (Trey) Barnett and Brandon Leth and great grandchildren, Shade and Lev Sharp and Lilly and Augustus Barnett.
A memorial service will take place to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Celebration Community Church, Colby.
