Keaneu Dustin Chad Depe, 23, of Denver, CO, died January 10, 2022. He was born August 3, 1998, in Denver, CO, to Juanita Swiftwater and Russell Depe. When Dustin was two years old, he moved to Colby, KS. At a young age he liked to play soccer and loved helping his grandpa Carroll with the chores around the farm. He loved the outdoors, going hunting and fishing was always a big adventure for him. His father would take him to the mountains in Colorado, where they would pan for gold and fish. Dustin was active in the boy scouts and earned several patches. He participated in football and track in high school. On December 12, 2018, he graduated from high school. Dustin was a big help, with his knowledge of Boy Scouts, to his grandmother Marj, while she was writing her book, Secrets of Roberts Mountain. Dustin was very proud and loved his Oglala Lakota indigenous heritage.
Going before him in death was his grandmother, Marjorie Brown.
Those left to mourn his passing are his mother Juanita, of Chadron, NE; father, Russell (Linda), of Colby, KS; grandparents, Carroll and Rita Depe, of Colby, James Brown, of Colby, Sara Bass, Diana Perez and Alvin and Sonny Gray Grass; brothers, Christian Brings Him Back, BJ-II Brings Him Back, Adrieano Brings Him Back, Tyler Swiftwater, Sebastien Water and Aaron (Ashley) Schriner and family; sisters, Natasha Swiftwater and Kimimila Swiftwater; aunts and uncles, Chad (Stacy) Depe, Barbara (Alan) Jones, Joanna Swiftwater, Cheraton Bass, Diedra Bass and Galveston Bass and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at the Berean Church, Colby, KS.
