Kathleen Jane Beals Crampton passed away during her sleep Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Citizens Medical Center in Colby, Kansas.
Kathleen was born January 27, 1942, in Farnam, Nebraska to Nancy Jane Beals and Joseph Ralph Beals. Kathleen lived on her parent’s farm in Frontier County, Nebraska and graduated high school from Cambridge, Nebraska. After graduation, she babysat her nephews before becoming a farm wife.
Kathy married Kenneth Lee Crampton August 10, 1961, in Indianola, Nebraska. Three children were born to this union: Karmel Carothers, Martin Crampton, and Kendra Bernard. Kathy was a farm wife and was an excellent seamstress. Ken and Kathy lived and farmed in Frontier County, Nebraska until January 1972 when they moved to their farm in Levant, Kansas. In 1995 Ken and Kathy moved to their ranch, C Lazy V located in Sylvan Grove, Kansas. They spent their retirement years in Colby and Salome, Arizona.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Joe Beals, and son Martin Crampton. She leaves behind her husband, sisters Marilyn Kester and Celia Liffrig, two daughters, one daughter-in-law, and seven grandchildren.
Her family will fondly remember her as a joyful and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
The visitation will be 5-7:00 p.m., with a Vigil at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Baalmann Mortuary in Colby, KS. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 17, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colby with burial in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
