Karen Kay Baalman, 67, of Oakley, died Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Logan County Manor, Oakley. She was born March 27, 1945, in Telford, Tennessee, to Fred and Opal (Testerman) Hayes. She married Jack Baalman on June 2, 1984. She was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her parents; a son Jeffery Lee Woodman; two sisters, Charlene Davison and Cleva Hayes.
Survivors include her husband Jack, of the home, and a daughter Samantha Baalman.
Cremation was chosen. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Baalmann Mortuary, Oakley with a vigil/rosary service starting at 6:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 20, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Oakley. Burial will take place at a later date at Clarinda Cemetery in Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to the Karen Baalman Memorial Fund in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 204, Oakley, KS 67748.
