Send Flowers Judith Ann Wintz, 76, died April 6, 2018 in her home in Leawood, KS after a four year bout with COPD. She was born in Colby, KS in 1941. Her parents were Nick and Sally Eberle. Judy grew up on a farm in Levant, KS before moving to Colby in 1947. She was a 1959 graduate of Colby High School and continued her education at the University of Kansas from 1959-1962. She married Paul Wintz on June 15, 1963 who passed away on June 14, 2004. They were married for 40 years. After being employed with General Electric after college, Judy and Paul moved back to Colby in 1964 where they opened a retail clothing and shoe business in which Judy served as seamstress and accountant. In 1974 Judy pursued a career in the banking industry, where she served in various banks and banking positions for the next 31 years. She retired in 2005 and moved to Leawood to be closer to family. She was known as one of the most trustworthy and loyal employees in each of her banking positions and was well liked by all of her fellow employees. Judy was most recently a member of St. Michaels Archangel Catholic Parish in Leawood, Prior to St. Michaels, she was a devout member of Sacred Heart Parish in Colby. Survivors include son, Chad Wintz, and his wife Amy Jo of Hutchinson and daughter, Camille Fischman and her fiancé Randy Williams of Leawood, 3 grandchildren Turner Wintz, Cole Fischman, and Josie Wintz, and her sister, Wanda Pilkington, as well as numerous nephews and nieces on both sides of the family. Her death was preceded by her husband Paul, her parents Nick and Sally Eberle, and her sister Jean Dreiling. Judy had a love for her church, family, friends, social activities in her residential community, watching her grandchildren’s activities, KC Royals baseball, and GOOD WEATHER! The rosary are scheduled for 6:30pm Friday, April 13 at Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel in Colby, KS. The funeral is scheduled for 10:30am Saturday, April 14 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Colby, KS. A Memorial Fund has been established c/o Kansas Hospice. All donations and gifts can be sent to Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel, 745 S. Country Club Drive, Colby, KS 67701.
