Judith Kennedy

Judith Ann (Judy Morgan) Kennedy, 61, of Colby, died Sunday, December 15, 2019, at Hays Medical Center, Hays, KS, after a short battle with cancer. She was born November 19, 1958, in Colby, KS, to Willard and Mary (Wigginton) Morgan.

Judy graduated from Hoxie High School, with the class of 1976, and then attended Colby Community College and Barton County Community College. Judy married Bill Kennedy on May 28, 1988 and they later divorced. She worked and helped manage Colby Photo for 25 years, until it closed. She also delivered the Salina Journal from 2004-2017, when home delivery ceased. Judy enjoyed quilting, crocheting, reading, and photography. She was a member of the Berean Bible Fellowship.

Throughout Judy’s struggles with her own health issues and those of her children, one thing remained constant, and that was her unwavering faith in God. She always downplayed her own issues and tried to help those who she felt were more needy.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother John Morgan. She is survived by her children, Justin Kennedy, Sr. (Marcina Wilson) and Jessica Kennedy, both of Colby; grandson Justin James Kennedy, Jr.; sisters, Myrna (John) Goracke, Elsie (Ronnie) Rietcheck and Susan Draper, and brothers, Sam (Shannon) Morgan and Robert (Jacquelyn) Morgan, and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves to mourn a host of co-workers, classmates, and friends.
